TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT) A new survey by American Express says that about four million Americans will get engaged on Valentine's Day. Another 14 million hope to take that leap later this year.

One local man popped the question on this romantic holiday, and got married exactly a year later.

Tim Rambur says, "We got married on Valentine's Day. It's a tradition with my wife's family that they get married on a holiday, so we decided to do Valentine's Day."

While many women prefer to be June brides, plenty of couples chose to get married whenever they can. They occasionally choose Valentine's Day because of the romantic traditions associated with the holiday.

Rambur says, "So we picked the date together, and it was both of ours second marriage. So it was exciting, but we both agree on the date together."

Rambur says having your anniversary on Valentine's Day helps kill two birds with one stone, because that's one less day you have to remember. But gentlemen, then if you happen to forget Valentine's Day, you may be sleeping out in the doghouse, whether you have a dog or not.

Rambur says, "Yes, it makes it easy, and it also makes it easy working in a Hallmark store. I'm reminded of these things, so it works out pretty good."
