Veterans Day Celebration Raises Money for Good Cause

Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A Veterans Day luncheon is raising money for senior citizens.

Hundreds gathered at the Senior Center in Jerome to get a taste of former China Village owner, Annie Wong's cooking.

Wong served up sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and stir fried vegetables.

It was five dollars a person and the proceeds went to the Home Delivered Meal Program.

"We wanted to do a special Veterans Day lunch to show all the veterans and their families how much we appreciate their sacrifices that they do," said Kristine Shelton, Organizer.

Wong said it was nice to be able to give back to the community that has given her so much.

Modern Woodmen of America matched the funds raised by the luncheon.
