Vineyard, Cotterell Overpasses To Close Soon For Bridge Work
Shoshone, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Beginning soon, motorists using a pair of local roadways will be rerouted for about two months while crews work to resurface the roadways where they cross over Interstate 84, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Work is expected to begin on Monday July 23 at the Vineyard Road (900 South Road) overpass in southern Jerome County, about two miles west of the I-84/Idaho 50 interchange. The closure will begin immediately and is expected to extend to early September. Traffic is being detoured to the Idaho 50 Interchange about two miles to the east.
Closure of the 300 South Road overpass in eastern Cassia County will begin the next week, approximately Aug. 2. The overpass, located about a mile south of the Cotterell Rest Area, is expected to be closed through mid-September. Traffic is being detoured to the Yale Road Interchange about two miles to the north.
Both bridges are undergoing a bridge resurfacing to remove the existing driving surfaces and replace them with a silica-fume concrete surface. Minor maintenance, including rehabilitation to guardrail, will also be completed.
