Violent Bike Theft Suspect With Ties To Burley, Arrested In Arizona

Mesa, Arizona ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Boise Police are reporting the arrest of Luke Christopher Cross, 29 known to frequent Boise and Burley. On Wednesday, December 11, 2013, Boise police announced they were searching for Cross wanted for a series of high end bike thefts. The suspect authorities say, was wanted for Felony Grand Theft, Aggravated Assault and malicious injury to property with a $250,000 bond.

On November 1, the suspect was accused of trying to sell a stolen bike at a Boise pawn shop. When an employee recognized the bike as stolen, witnesses say the suspect broke a large glass door trying to leave the store before police arrived, and then drove his vehicle in an attempt to hit a store employee who chased after the suspect in the parking lot. Officers have evidence the most recent rash of bike thefts connected to the suspect began in mid-September. Investigators believe the thefts are drug related.

On Wednesday, December 18, Cross was seen in Arizona. He was arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force in Arizona and officers from the Mesa Police Department’s Superstition Division, Cross was arrested at a residence in Mesa Arizona.
