Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Last month, volunteers at the Twin Falls Senior Center delivered more than 2200 meals to over 140 senior citizens.

The volunteers select the days of the week they want to deliver meals. It takes about an hour and a half for each driver to complete their part of the overall deliveries.

Garry Ford, Home Meals Delivery Coordinator, says, “They covered 1800 miles last month. We stay within the city limits, except for one route. I have ten routes that are serviced by 20 different drivers.”

Ford says delivering meals to homes enables the drivers to check on older citizens and make sure that they're okay. The Senior Center is willing to pay drivers 46 cents a mile, which some drivers accept and other drivers don't.
