Wagons Ho!: Hailey 4th Graders Take A Trip In Time
Hailey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) For 4th graders across the State, leaning about Idaho's history is a big part of the yearly curriculum.
For the 4th grade class at Hailey Elementary today that history came to life.
Thursday was “Wagons Ho Day” at Hailey Elementary.
For the past 15 years the 4th grade class has been taking part in Wagons Ho Day.
This hands-on approach gives the kids a chance to get a in–depth feel for how life really was in the mid to late 1800's.
Cal Klevenger from Caldwell teaches the kids all about the pioneer life.
From there the kids spend the rest of the day in 12 different sections learning and playing the pioneer life.
"There are 12 different stations that the kids rotate. They churn butter, saw logs, build a fire, wash dishes, wash cloths... all kinds of cool stuff."
"Everybody 1... 2... 3... YEEEE HAAAA"
