Walkers Raise Thousands to Fight HungerTwin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The 22nd Annual Crop Hunger Walk is in the books. Crop is an acronym for the Christian Rural Overseas Project. "They distribute the money to poor people all around the world to help dig wells, to teach them how to farm,” said Horner. " Participants started the walk right here at Elevation, walked down to the Visitor's Center and ended the walk again right here at Elevation. "We've raised about five–thousand dollars so far just today and expect probably one or two–thousand more dollars coming in the next couple weeks,” said Horner. Melanie Halsell has been taking part in the Twin Falls Crop Hunger Walk for over a decade. "Sometimes the problem seems so extreme and so global, but this is something we can do to help in our community. It's an immediate need, it's a daily need," said Melanie Halsell, Crop Hunger Walk participant. Comments ( |
