Water District Members Get Ready For Spring
Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Warm temperatures remind us spring is on the way. That's why irrigators are already thinking about water from the canal companies.
Water District 130 stretches from Bliss east to the Power County line, and from the Snake River north to Carey. It serves a total of two thousand surface and ground water users.
Watermaster Cindy Yenter says, "We do this every year, this is required by law. The water districts operate as quasi-governmental entities of the state, for administration of water rights. This is just an annual meeting that happens every year."
Yenter says the members of Water District 130 elected the water master for this year, and passed the operating budget. Then they gave the water master authority to collect the money and operate the district for this year.
