Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Winter storms are grounding airplanes across the east, but they aren't the only ones dealing with inclement weather.
Creeping fog caused some unexpected delays today at the Magic Valley Regional Airport.
Airport manager Bill Carberry said, although technology is a great asset, the pilots still need good visibility.
"Visibility is a big issue. At some point, although they fly with instruments, when they come in to land, they do need to have a visual contact with the runway. So, once we start getting below a quarter of a mile, it starts to get a bit tricky,” he explains.
Carberry said they have been fairly lucky as far as delays, up until today.
