Southern Idaho (KMVT-TV) A Red Flag Warning is in effect for most of Southern Idaho. Right now the highest concentration of weather activity will be centered in the Southern part or the South Hills area, according to KMVT Meteorologist Nick Kosir. The warning is in effect until 8pm tonight. Several disturbances will keep scattered storms in the area through early this evening. These storms will produce some light rain with pockets of heavy rain. The main concern with these storms continue to be the frequent lightning and gusty outflow winds they will produce. Some gusts will reach upwards of 40 mph. The further east you head the more intense the storm activity will be today. This weather will deter wildfire fighting efforts and possibly spark more wildfires.
Overnight skies will clear and calm conditions are expected for the weekend.
