What To Look For At Farmers Markets

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) This weekend South Central Public Health District officials addressed food safety at the Twin Falls Farmers Market.

From fruit to vegetables, food safety is always an important topic to address.

Even though the products are typically locally grown, here are a few tips to consider.

Bring your own reusable bags, don't be afraid to ask questions, and come early to get the freshest produce and best selection.

Health officials also advise to learn about the growing seasons so you'll know in advance of what's available.

"The health department comes out and gives all of our vendors information and they're all certified through the health department. They all have health certificates," adds Kathy Kent.

Approximately 40 vendors sold their products at this week's farmers market.
