Wildfire Burning In Owyhee County
Owyhee County, Idaho (KBOI) BLM crews are battling a fire near Gem Creek Canyon.
The fire is 1,400 acres and at this point there is no word on containment. BLM crews do have a fire line around the blaze so they don't expect it to grow. No structures are threatened and firefighters believe it is human caused. "We've been able to see a lot of smoke from the fire today, but it's mainly interior burning. Stuff from the inside that hadn't fully consumed when it first started to they got the line around it and it burned out so it didn't cause further problems." And over in Pocatello, our sister station, KIDK reports the Charlotte fire is now 80% contained. That fire claimed sixty–six homes in the Pocatello area. Comments ( |
