Working Hard On Labor Day

Tools

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Labor Day is usually considered the last official day of summer.

While school starts for many students tomorrow, and plenty of people took the day off from work, there were still a handful of people working hard this Labor Day. Those included law enforcement personnel and fire fighters, who were standing by in case they were needed.

Capt. Mitchell Brooks of the Twin Falls Fire Department says, "The drivers check the vehicles, make sure they're response ready. But business as usual for the fire department. Hopefully there's nothing happening today, but we're ready if something does."

Brooks says if fire fighters have to work on holidays, they often celebrate with family members either the day before or the day after. He says today, he and his coworkers are spending the day with their "fire department family."
