Community Working To Reduce Obesity
Rupert, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A team of concerned community members in Rupert are trying to reduce obesity in the community.
For the last six months the team ahs been working to complete a Community Health Assessment. Earlier this month they received a nine thousand dollar grant from the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. "The obesity rate in Idaho is about 25%. Here in Minidoka County it's about 35%," said Adria Masoner, Health Education Specialist. The team plans to use the grant to establish an Employer Wellness Institute.
