SUN VALLEY, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Foodies from across the state gathered in Sun Valley this weekend for the second annual Harvest Festival.

The event kicked off Friday evening with a restaurant walk.

World-class chefs took center stage Saturday for cooking demonstrations, including former 'Top Chef' contestant Sam Talbot.
The 33–year–old executive chef and restaurant owner lives with type one diabetes.

His personal experience inspired him to author a cookbook geared towards helping others living with diabetes.

Talbot says he wants to teach others how to eat healthy without sacrificing flavor.

Sam Talbot, author of "The Sweet Life" says, "with a little bit of guidance it's totally doable and there's great food out there that you might not necessarily be used to eating like almond flour, brown rice flour, to be able to bake or make soups and things that someone's totally used to."

'The Sweet Life' hits shelves October 25th.

Meanwhile, the Sun Valley Harvest Festival wrapped up Sunday afternoon with a wine tasting. Proceeds from the event benefited the Make a Wish Foundation.
