Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) While many of us hold yard sales to make some money or get rid of unwanted items...one Twin Falls sale served a different purpose.

Derek Eccles son is a first grader at Perrine Elementary School. He suffers from food allergies and needs to take an epipen with him.

This yard sale raised money for FAAN to support food allergy research.
The family is headed to Salt Lake City next weekend to participate in a food allergy walk that raises funds and promotes awareness.

And over the past two days, the community helped to raise money and help children like Brandon Eccles.

"I like to go to McDonald's and I have food allergies," adds Brandon.

Tami Eccles, Brandon's mother says, "it's all been donated. We've had friends stop by. And there are people who've done yard sales and asked if they could donate. We've had quite a few people stop by a little bit here and there."

Unfortunately the yard sale is over, but you can support the cause by donating to the FAAN organization.
