Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT) - A crop duster pilot is lucky to be alive; Thursday morning emergency crews responded to the crash just west of Murtaugh Lake.
At around 9:20 am, a Twin Falls County resident called in to dispatch after something knocked out power.
It was quickly learned, however that a crop duster was taking off from a runway, just below the Hansen Butte, on an old dirt runway used often by crop dusters.
The plane, operated by ken-spray incorporated, was being flown by 66 year old pilot Larry Wright.
Despite the twisted wreckage, the pilot walked away with little injuries.
The duster was carrying an anti-fungal agent that posed little threat and cleaned up by fire crews.
According to the pilot’s mechanic, wind is being blamed for the crash. It pushed the plane into the power line which runs right along the runway.
