Stranded Sea Turtle Undergoing Rehab
Newport, Oregon (CNN) The Oregon Coast Aquarium is working to save the life of this sea turtle.
The turtle was found stranded on Newport's Moolack Beach last week. Green sea turtles are uncommon -- but not unheard of -- in the Pacific Ocean off Oregon. An aquarium spokesman says the turtle's body temperature is low, and they don't know yet just how sick he is. The aquarium hopes to get the reptile healthy enough to move him to a warm water sea turtle rehab center, and eventually back into his natural habitat. By the way, all sea turtles are protected under the Endangered Species Act. Comments ( |
