Colorado Springs, Colorado (CNN) Things could go from bad to worse in the Colorado Springs area today.
Firefighters haven't been able to make any significant progress in containing the Waldo Canyon Fire. The local fire chief called it a "firestorm of epic proportions," fueled by wind gusts whipping through the canyons. And now, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for this afternoon. 32-thousand people in the Colorado Springs area, including some on the U-S Air Force Academy campus, have already been evacuated.
