Idaho BLM Announces Selection Of Boise And Twin Falls District Managers
Boise, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Bureau of Land Management Idaho State Director Steve Ellis announced today his selection of Mr. Jim Fincher as Manager of the Boise District and Ms. Mel Meier to serve as Twin Falls District Manager.
“Both individuals have outstanding qualifications and will be great assets to Idaho BLM,” said Ellis. “They appreciate Idaho’s outstanding public lands and resources, and they are committed to working cooperatively for their benefit with local communities, partners and stakeholders.” Fincher is currently the Field Manager for the BLM Anchorage Field Office in Alaska. He has 12 years of experience as a line officer with both the BLM and the USDA Forest Service. Jim has worked in a number of geographic locations, in both resource specialist and line management positions, in permanent and acting capacities in Alaska, Georgia, the District of Columbia, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Meier is currently the Associate District Manager for the BLM Southern Nevada District. She has seven years of experience with the Bureau as a line manager and resource specialist. Mel began her BLM career in the Washington Office (WO) as a planning and environmental analyst. During that time she worked on numerous high-profile projects, including implementation of the Energy Policy Act, a re-write of the BLM National Environmental Policy Act Handbook and interactive web guide, and resource management plan support for several Western states. Her leadership positions since leaving the WO include Planning and Environmental Coordinator and Assistant Deputy State Director, Minerals Management for the BLM Nevada, as well as Associate District Manager and Field Manager assignments in Nevada.
