Jewel Heist Foiled By Gun-Toting Senior Citizen Shop Owner
Garden Grove, California (CNN) - A group of would-be jewel thieves picked the wrong store to try and rob.
Surveillance video shows five men storming the jewelry store in Garden Grove, California, pointing guns at customers and employees. Before getting their hands on a single jewel, the 65-year-old owner opens fire, sending them scrambling for the door. The woman then took off after the thieves. Moments later, their S-U-V left so quick, three of the guys were left behind until they were picked up a block away. They all got away empty-handed. Or did they? On Monday, two robbers tried the same thing at a different store nearby, and again, the owner pulls out a gun. This time, one got hit in the head, and they were both arrested.
