A Man Goes The Distance To Reclaim His Stolen Bike
Seattle, Washington (CNN) - Check this out:
An alleged bicycle thief caught red-handed in an elaborate sting operation -- by the victim and his friends, who caught it all on camera. Portland native Jake Gillum had his expensive bike stolen earlier this month. And when it turned up in a Seattle Craigslist ad, he and his friends hatched an elaborate plan. They created a fake online persona. Then, they traveled 160 miles to confront the alleged bike-napper in person, and filmed the whole thing. After alerting police, Gillum chased the suspect down. Once authorities arrived on the scene, the alleged thief was arrested and charged with trafficking stolen property. The three vigilantes posted their video on YouTube, racking up over a million views in just five days. Comments ( |
