Washington-Based Aircraft Carrier To Deploy Four Months Ahead Of Schedule
Bremerton, Washington (CNN) - The Secretary of Defense gave a send-off to sailors in Washington ahead of their early deployment.
The John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group will leave on Monday, four months earlier than planned. "We're asking an awful lot of each of you, but frankly, you are the best I have, and when the world calls, we have to respond." Leon Panetta thanked the 2,000 men and women who will be gone for eight months. The Stennis Strike Group returned from a deployment in March. Comments ( |
