Air Show Honors Responders Of 2011 Crash
Reno, Nevada (CNN) - Police, firefighters, and E-M-Ts were honored today (Thursday) during the opening ceremony of the Reno National Championship Air Races.
Last year, first responders rushed to help some 80 people hurt when pilot Jimmy Leeward's plane smashed into the grandstand.
The Reno Gazette Journal reports the crews were able to get all of those injured to the hospital in under an hour.
A total of 11 people died in the crash.
On Sunday, victims and their families will be honored during an event marking one year since the disaster.
