LANDER, Wyo. (AP) _ The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has
begun the process of hiring a wolf management team as well as a
coordinator for the state's new wolf management program.

The team will oversee management of wolves in Wyoming after a
six month-transition from federal management of wolves in Wyoming.
The transition period will begin Friday.

Scott Talbott will be interim wolf coordinator until a permanent
coordinator is named. Talbott is an assistant division chief for
wildlife in the Game and Fish Department.

Talbott says the department has been reviewing applications for
the permanent state wolf coordinator. He says the permanent
coordinator could be in place by mid-May.

The coordinator will supervise four wolf management specialists
stationed in Cody, Lander, Pinedale and Jackson.
