Walk Held To Honor Long-Time Sheriff Of Cochise County Arizona Killed In Traffic Crash
Tombstone, Arizona (CNN) - Hundreds of people walked to honor a long-time Arizona sheriff killed in a traffic accident earlier this week.
Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever died Tuesday. His pick-up truck crashed on a rural road in northern Arizona. He was apparently headed to a two-day hunting trip with one of his six sons. Police say it's unknown what caused him to lose control of his truck. Dever served as sheriff for more than 15 years, and reached national prominence for his opposition to illegal immigration.
