UC-Davis Offers Money To Pepper Spray Victims
Sacramento, California (CNN) - The University of California is offering a settlement in a class-action lawsuit involving pepper-sprayed students. This is video from last November when the incident occurred on the U-C Davis campus. A police officer pepper sprays students sitting on a path at close range. Police were trying to clear out an Occupy encampment.
The school is now offering to pay 21-plaintiffs 30-thousand-dollars each as part of a proposed settlement. The college says the officer involved in the incident is no longer working at the university. The proposed deal still needs federal approval. Comments ( |
