Burbank, California (CNN) - Suspicious...
That's how police are describing the death of an airline pilot found dead along the 5 Freeway in Burbank, California. Alaska Airlines pilot Lee Morris flew into Bob Hope Airport on Monday.
When the veteran pilot didn't report to work Tuesday morning airline officials called the police.
Investigators found Morris hours later on an off ramp and said he didn't appear to be the victim of a crime or injured.
Back in Washington state where Morris lived, neighbors like Lucia Hefter are in shock over his death. "He's just a really nice guy. He was willing to help anybody. It's very sad. I feel sad for his family." Investigators are interviewing Morris' coworkers and requesting help from drivers who may have seen him stopped on the highway. An autopsy scheduled for later today should explain how he died.
