Man Riding Scooter Seriously Injured After Colliding With A Boise Fire Truck

Boise, Idaho (KMVT-TV) A man riding a scooter early this morning collided with a Boise Fire Department Truck even tho the trucks emergency lights and sirens were activated. That, according to the Idaho State Police who is investigating the accident that was reported at 2:38am. Authorities say James Lucero, 26, of Portland Oregon was southbound on 14th Street approaching Main Street. At the same time, the Boise Fire Department was responding to a call for an unconscious male in the 100 block of South 6th Street. Lucero entered the intersection, failing to yield for a red light and made contact with the driver’s side front of the fire engine. Lucero was transported to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise with what the fire department is describing as serious but non life threatening injuries at the time. Lucero was not wearing a helmet. None of the occupants in the fire engine were injured.
