Idaho Is On Track For A Stellar Potato Crop This Year, But It Could Drive Prices Down

By Paul Johnson

Idaho (CNN) - The potato harvest is well underway in Idaho.
And early estimates indicate the state is producing a good crop this year.
But is it too good?
Spud farmers say too many potatoes can actually drive prices lower.
The harvest isn't over, yet, so it's still too soon to tell how the market might be affected.
Idaho potato growers planted 345-thousand acres of spuds in 2012.
That an 8-percent increase over 2011.
