Police Accuse Fireman Of Hiring Hit Man To Kill His Wife

Las Vegas, Nevada (KMVT-TV) Wednesday, police in Las Vegas Nevada arrested a city firefighter for Murder. He is accused of coming up with the plan to murder his estranged wife. Police are accusing George Tiaffay of hiring a hit man, identified as Noel Stevens, 37 to kill Shauna Tiaffay, 46, who was separated from her husband and lived alone. Police are accusing Stevans of hitting the woman in the head with a hammer on September 29th. She was killed as she returned home from working a shift as a cocktail waitress. Tiaffay, 40, was taken into custody Wednesday. He had been in the hospital since Monday after driving his truck into a wall on Interstate 215. Tiaffay, worked as a Las Vegas Firefighter since 2002 and was a 1994 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
A day after the killing, someone had reported to police that Stevens had killed someone for $600 with the promise of more money. The two men will make their first court appearances on the murder charges on Friday.
