Mother Of Baby Gabriel Found Guilty In Son's Disappearance
Phoenix, Arizona (CNN) - The mother of a boy known as "Baby Gabriel" was found guilty Thursday in her son's disappearance.
Elizabeth Johnson showed no emotion as jurors read the guilty verdict for unlawful imprisonment and custodial interference. Eight-month-old Gabriel Johnson was last seen alive at a Texas motel in December of 2009. Prosecutors say Johnson told her ex, the boy's father, that she killed Gabriel and put his body in a Dumpster. Afterward, she changed the story and claimed she gave the baby to a couple in a Texas park who wanted to adopt the child. Prosecutors say it was all for revenge against the boy's father after their breakup. The child has never been found. A jury will now decide whether there were any aggravating circumstances before a judge decides on a sentence. Comments ( |
