Tsunami Warning Issued For Hawaii

British Columbia, Canada (KMVT-TV) A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck around 9 p.m. Saturday evening. The epicenter of the earthquake was just off shore British Columbia. The earthquake was large enough to possibly generate a tsunami.

Tsunami warnings have been issued for Hawaii with Tsunami Advisories issued for portions of California and Oregon. The Emergency Management Agency of Hawaii has ordered evacuations of coastal areas. A Tsunami has been generated however the Tsunami Warning Center is unsure on it's size. We will have continuing coverage throughout the night.

UPDATE:
The Governor of Hawaii has issued an Emergency Proclamation ahead of the possible Tsunami. The Tsunami is expected to strike at approximately 2:30 AM Idaho time. We will have updated information as it becomes available

UPDATE:
Officials are saying the tsunami doesn't appear to be as big as forecast across Hawaii. So far the highest wave was approximately 3 feet. We will continue monitoring the latest information and will post any updates if necessary.
