Mysterious Illness Prompts Evacuation Order In New Mexico City
Santa Teresa, New Mexico (CNN) - Authorities are trying to figure out what's behind the mysterious sickness of hundreds of people in a New Mexico city Tuesday.
Around two-hundred people reported difficulty breathing, light-headedness, nausea and dizziness. The scare shut down Santa Teresa's airport and prompted a mandatory evacuation of a two-mile area around the Doña Ana County Industrial Park . It is believed the release of hazardous materials from the industrial park is to blame. Officials are performing air quality testing to be sure. The city has lifted the evacuation order. Comments ( |
