Experienced Surfer Is Recovering After A Shark Attack Off The Coast Of Northern California
Humboldt Bay, California (CNN) - A man is recovering tonight (Tuesday) after a shark attack off the coast of Northern California.
Witnesses say the 25-year-old experienced surfer had a 14-inch shark bite and several other tears to his body. After the attack in Humboldt Bay, he went underwater, then surfaced and screamed for help. People on the beach jumped into the water and pulled him to safety. "We could just see that he was really gashed up and he had like four or five serious gashes from his nipple down to his hip and was definitely bleeding out pretty good and so we hopped on him right away me and one other guy that happened to be an EMT, hopped on top of him and basically used our body weight to hold everything in and make sure he wasn't bleeding too bad." Another surfer drove the victim to the hospital where he went straight into surgery. He is expected to survive. Comments ( |
