San Diego, California (CNN) - A 16-year-old California girl is lucky to be okay after being bitten six times by rattlesnakes. Vera Oliphant was walking up a hill about two weeks ago looking for a cell phone signal when she stepped into a pit of snakes.
She's recovering at home, after four days in intensive care.

If you're in the desert for one, wear boots, and two, don't bring you cell phone or go searching for reception because you won't find it anyways and you might step into a pit of rattlesnakes.
Doctors say if you get bitten by a snake, it's important to remember, you have more time than you think you do.
The most important thing is to get to the E-R as soon as possible.
