More Competition For Hollywood
Hollywood, California (CNN) - It looks like Hollywood has some competition when it comes to the movie and T-V business.
The L-A Times reports a new study by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation shows the county lost more than 16-thousand film and T-V jobs between 2004 and 2011. The agency says most of the jobs went to other states that offer special tax breaks and incentives to the industry. The report found that during the same time period, New York added more than 14-thousand jobs.... while Georgia added 800. Despite the losses, the study found the entertainment industry is still one of the largest businesses in the county's economy... employing 247-thousand people in 2011. Comments ( |
