Church Pastor Accused Of Dealing Drugs

Fountain Hill, Arizona (CNN) - An Arizona pastor is accused of peddling drugs. Deputies arrested 63-year-old Mark Derksen Wednesday. They say they were tipped off about Derksen two years ago but didn't have enough to go on until an undercover purchase. Deputies raided his apartment and seized several grams of meth and heroin, along with prescription drugs. Sheriff's investigators say they aren't sure if Derksen allegedly sold the drugs from his church. "We have no information right now whether they actually went in the church or he used the apartment." "We're going to see how many people were using drugs in this town to send a warning out that we're not going to put up with this." Sheriff Joe Arpaio says Derksen would give people free drugs to get them hooked and build a customer base. He allegedly had as many as 30 customers a day. The church is for sale right now and not believed to be in operation.
