Carole King Gets Star On Walk Of Fame

Los Angeles, California (CNN) Carole King is now among entertainment royalty.
The singer and songwriter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.
Family, friends and collaborators were on hand to celebrate her decades of contributions to the music industry.
Her 1971 album "Tapestry" was a best-seller for 25 years.
Hundreds of her songs have been recorded by more than one-thousand artists and at least 100 hit the top of the charts.
At Monday's ceremony, King thanked her fans for their loyalty over her career that has spanned more than half a century.
