San Francisco Railway Shutdown By Blown Transformer
San Francisco, California (CNN) - A busted transformer at a train station in San Francisco may make for a messing commute Tuesday.
The malfunction along the Muni system caused a shutdown in railway service Monday evening. Thousands of commuters hopped on buses covering for the downed underground train line. By late evening some train lines were partially running. A spokesman for the railway says the system is suffering from a problem in its hardware that directs commands to the signals and switches. Rail service is expected to be back on track Tuesday, if not, Muni officials say there is a contingency plan in place. Comments ( |
