Woman Sells T-Shirts To Benefit Families Of School Shooting Victims
San Diego, California (CNN) - A San Diego woman, who grew up in Newtown, Connecticut is selling "I love Newtown" t-shirts to raise money for the victims in Friday's school shooting. Kerin Sovern says she and a group of friends created the t-shirts years ago while attending Newtown High School.
After the shooting, the group decided to revive the shirt and sell it to help the folks in the town she describes as the perfect place.
'It's just a great town filled with wonderful people. General store 99 cent bacon, egg and cheese. 2 dollar movie theater. Ice cream shop. Everything that you could imagine out of a town you'd want to raise your kids in.'
The t-shirts are being sold for 25 dollars online.
Printing companies are donating the materials so all proceeds go to the families in Newtown.
Already close to 300 T-shirts have sold meaning more than 5000 dollars for the cause.
