Gun Supporters Rally Outside Colorado State Capitol

By Paul Johnson

Denver, Colorado (CNN) - Pro-gun advocates greeted Colorado state lawmakers on the first day of the state's legislative session.
More than a hundred protesters rallied outside the state capitol.
The pro-gun activists are facing a new political reality after Democrats took control of both houses of the Colorado State Legislature in the November elections.
Months after the deadly shooting at an Aurora movie theater, lawmakers are considering bills that would strengthen background checks and limit some types of weapons.
Supporters think that kind of legislation will help curb the mass shooting we've seen lately.
But opponents say they don't always work.
