Black Ice To Blame In Oregon Bus Crash

By Paul Johnson

Near Pendleton, Oregon (CNN) - An attorney for the Canadian bus company involved in a deadly crash last month in Oregon says black ice played a "significant role" in the accident.
Nine passengers were killed when a Mi Joo Tour and Travel bus skidded off an Oregon interstate into an embankment.
39 others were injured, including the driver.
The bus company's attorney says the driver had more than seven hours of sleep the night before the crash -- and that there's "no indication" that drugs and alcohol were involved.
Tuesday, federal authorities barred the company from operating in the U-S, saying the driver worked 22 hours more that week than the 70 allowed.
The N-T-S-B and the Oregon State Police are investigating the accident.
