Two Boise Residents First Found Unresponsive, Later Arrested On Drug Charges, Naked Baby In Crib Nearby

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV KTWT-TV ) Boise Police were called to do an emergency welfare check on the residents of a home on the 10,000 block of W. Cory Street yesterday, Thursday, January 17th, at approx. 1:42 p.m. Officers were called by a citizen who had gone inside the house and found a man, woman and an infant child all seemingly unresponsive. Boise Firefighters and ACEMS were also called to the scene.
When officers arrived, they found a man and woman in a bedroom. It took officers several tries to wake up the pair, who very slowly regained consciousness. Officers could see several items of drug paraphernalia lying in plain view in the bedroom. They also saw a mason jar on the floor with what appeared to be baggies filled with a green leafy substance that nearly filled the jar. Officers later confirmed two baggies inside the jar, both containing marijuana, one with a total package weight of 13 grams, the second with a total package weight of 31 grams. The adults, Britany Renea Korom, 18 and the male, Joshua R. Pedroza, 20 of Boise were arrested. Pedroza was charged with possession of marijuana (m) and found to have three outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants. Officers also found a naked infant in a portable crib in a front room. Officers had the child taken to a nearby hospital and treated for what appeared to be severe diaper rash. The infant was declared to be in imminent danger and turned over to the protective custody of agents with the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare.
