Man In Need Of Kidney Donor Takes To The Streets To Find Donor
Beverton, Oregon (CNN) - A man in Oregon is taking to the streets in a desperate bid to find an organ donor. Earl Martinez is holding up a sign for motorists that reads "Need Kidney Donor." Martinez, who's 28 years old, was born with a genetic kidney disease called Alport Syndrome. He's been getting dialysis treatments for four hours a day, three times a week for the past year and a half and he's been waiting more than a year to get a kidney transplant. Now he's taking a direct approach to finding a donor.
"My insurance would cover all medical costs on my side and the donor's side, so the donor would have no medical costs." Martinez says his family is not eligible to donate a kidney because his condition is hereditary. Comments ( |
