Girl Collects Stuffed Toys For Traumatized Children

By Paul Johnson

Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) - A 10-year-old girl is proving you don't have to be an adult to make a difference.
Jessica Carscadden started the "we care bear project" last year.
She collects teddy bears and cuddly toys for fire stations across California that distribute the gifts to kids who lose everything in fires.
It's her way of spreading love to kids experiencing hard times.
Something, Jessica says, she understands. I thought of this project because I was in an orphanage and I had a stuffed animal and I realized if I can be happy then the whole world can be happy.
This week, Jessica is spreading the love by donating some of those stuffed animals to firehouses in Las Vegas.
