Blackfoot, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Blackfoot School Board Chairman Scott Reese announced today that he was going to step down. He’s concerned that if he remains on the board it may be detrimental to the passage of the upcoming supplemental levy. Reese and Trustee Jenny Hong were the subject of a citizen recall petition earlier this week. That effort was focused on the $220,000 buyout of former Superintendent Scott Crain’s contract, which was carried out behind closed doors. He said he still stands behind his decision but the issue “has become extremely personal and distasteful.”
Reese said that he has resigned his position with Bingham Memorial Hospital and is now working for Bingham County effective Friday February 1.
