Peppers Packed With Pot Picked Up
Nogales, Arizona (CNN) - A Mexican man was arrested Tuesday for attempting to smuggle more than a ton of marijuana into the U-S in a shipment of bell peppers.
U-S Customs and Border Protection officials stopped the unnamed 35-year-old in his tractor-trailer at the Nogales Commercial Facility. An x-ray scan and a canine search uncovered 280 packages of pot, estimated to be worth more than one million dollars. Authorities seized the drugs and the tractor-trailer. The driver was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. Comments ( |
