Golden Gate Bridge Switches Over To Electronic Tolls
San Francisco, California (CNN) - A new era begins today (Wednesday) at San Francisco's famous Golden Gate Bridge.
Every toll on the span is now electronic.
Drivers gave flowers and gifts to toll takers on their last day of work Tuesday.
Since it opened in 19-37, the Golden Gate Bridge has never been without toll takers.
Officials say the move will save two million dollars a year by eliminating 28 jobs.
Some drivers worry about gridlock as people get used to the new tolls.
