Boise, Idaho (KBOI) - A 25-year-old Boise man pulled a knife on store employees as he allegedly tried to steal some books, officials say.

Boise PD says officers were called when workers told them a man had just stolen books from a store on the 1700 block of University Drive late Friday morning.

As officers were responding, the caller told dispatchers that additional employees were following the suspect and told them where he located.

BPD says after the arrest, officers learned the suspect, Daniel C. Elwell, pulled a knife on two employees and threatened one of them as he tried to leave the store.

Elwell has been charged with burglary and aggravated assault - both felonies.
